March 17 - 22 The focus of this retreat will be the practice of 'breathing in' the sky as a way to bring insight into the nature of space and embodiment. Density and pain give way to the infinite energy that is 'here'. Ratna Ling's broad vistas and quiet prescence will intensify the power of the retreat. Begins Monday at lunch and continues through Saturday dinner. Includes the "Healing and Pain" workshop on March 21-22. Primary Instructor: Sylvia Gretchen March 21 - 22 In this workshop, four specific meditation and visualization exercises will be presented that can touch and transform emotional and physical pain. Discussion will challenge commonly held assumptions about pain. Workshop begins with lunch on Friday and ends Saturday afternoon. Please register early since space is limited. Instructor: Sylvia Gretchen First-Person Methodologies in the Study of Consciousness The conference brings together participants from all over the world, many well-known in the field of consciousness studies. It is open by invitation only. This year's theme is Space, Time, and Self: The View from Within. This five-day Kum Nye training program teaches ways to restore wholeness and to relax in any tension. Some of the lectures are based on Dharma Publishing’s e–Visualization program and will specifically use the pictorial Buddhist teaching of the Wheel of Life. Instructor: Arnaud Maitland JD and MA in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and psychology; May 5 - 10 This retreat makes use of the full range of intermediate and advanced Kum Nye exercises to help each participant integrate a rich array of positive feelings into body, senses, and mind. Instructors: Donna Morton and Santosh Philip May 16 - 17 Dedication, openness, caring, and embodied intelligence: these are the inner resources that activists need to bring about and sustain positive change. This weekend workshop will explore how to develop and maintain these capacities in the face of the challenges that come with any meaningful undertaking. We will draw on exercises, dialog, new forms of inquiry, and the healing power of nature to create a sustaining community of inquiry. July 7 - 13 Students deepen their search for awakened mind through in-depth study of topics from the Gateway to Knowledge book by the great Tibetan master Lama Mipham. Meditation practice will analyze the constituents of inner and outer experience. Kum Nye practice will help deepen analysis. Tarthang Tulku, Openness Mind. There is an art of deep listening that hears all sounds as music and recognizes a vast healing silence at the very heart of all sound. This workshop blends music, mantra, and silence to inspire this realization. October 23 - 26 Contemplating teachings from the Buddha's Surangama Sutra illuminate the nature of mind, perception, and consciousness. Our goal is the transmutation of ordinary awareness.
