Throughout the year, Ratna Ling hosts retreats to promote personal and universal transformation. Unique in our offering, the focus is on ensuring that each individual is provided the freedom to enjoy their retreat at a personal level. Ratna Ling is a working community comprised completely of volunteers and we welcome each of our retreatants into our community, not only as a guest, but as a valued member of our community for the duration of their stay. In most cases, retreatants share in kitchen clean-up and are encouraged to participate in the unique opportunity to join in work-practice at Yeshe De bindery where we print, assemble and orchestrate distribution of sacred Tibetan texts.
Guests need not have any particular relationship with Buddhism to participate, just an open-minded respect for oneself, members of the community and the place itself. While Ratna Ling does not function as a traditional monastic community, it does uphold Buddhist principles and all guests and residents are asked to adhere to certain simple practices to help maintain the respectful atmosphere such as appropriate behavior toward others, cleanliness and not causing harm to each other, animals or insects. 100% of our proceeds go to support our efforts in both Asia and the West.
